Cloud Services Specialist (Managed IT Services) – Full-time

Level: Early-Mid

THE ROLE : As a Cloud Services Specialist (Managed IT Services) . In addition to being an integral part of our Cloud Services team, you also:

  • Understand Windows Servers, SAN, SQL, IIS, Remote Desktop Apps and Application UAT/delivery. Having 3+ years of experience owning or managing a mid/large sized server infrastructure (over 500 employees) is ideal.
  • Have lead complex and time-sensitive projects with minimal guidance to full completion
  • Communicate well with customers and internal teams providing troubleshooting direction and escalated-issues support to internal & external customers
  • Have an aptitude for teaching and coaching others, ability to develop quality training materials and documents for Tier 1 support teams including internal and customer-facing knowledge base content
  • Familiar with an entrepreneurial culture, yet without being bureaucratic, have a high regard for change management processes, compliance, and security standards.

Month 1

  • Learn all cloud hosted applications (installation, setup/configuration, associated architecture and core functionality) and deliver a 45 minute presentation to your manager demonstrating your knowledge of our software applications by the end of week 2.
  • Learn the  Cloud infrastructure. Schedule a Q&A session with the Cloud team to demonstrate your knowledge of our infrastructure and virtualization technology, and explain our process for customer migrations and onboarding to the Cloud by the end of week 3.
  • Shadow 3 calls from escalated customer issues every week starting from week 2; document the issues and the solutions provided from the conversation and present your summary to your manager by the end of each week.
  • Do some research on solutions for optimizing the Cloud Infrastructure and provide at least 3 suggestions to the team by the end of week 4. You need to support each of your suggestions with facts and data from your research.
  • Handle 5 cloud-related customer calls with manager’s assistance.
  • Close 5 escalation issues with manager’s assistance.
  • Schedule weekly 1-on-1 meetings with your manager to solicit feedback and discuss your progress, the roadblocks you encounter and how you plan to overcome them.

Month 2

  • Develop and document an applications delivery process including internal testing and software release methodology to customer cloud environments. Show the process to the team for feedback by the end of week 2. Make modifications till you meet your manager’s expectation.
  • Close out at least 25 cloud-related customer issues with minimum assistance.
  • Close out at least 10 escalation issues from support team with minimum assistance.
  • Complete 2 cloud onboarding/implementation project – from initial planning, execution to completion.
  • Schedule weekly 1-on-1 meetings with your manager to solicit feedback and discuss your progress, the roadblocks you encounter and how you plan to overcome them.

Month 3

  • Complete 3 cloud onboarding/implementation projects – from initial planning, execution to completion.
  • You will be fully integrated with the Cloud team, assisting with support of the cloud environment and work independently to provide timely resolutions to escalated issues
  • Serve as the liaison among the Cloud Services Manager, internal support teams, and our hosting provider to handle all the cloud escalation issues timely and successfully
  • Oversee the process of customer migrations and onboarding to the HCSS cloud independently.

Month 4 – 6+

  • Identify ongoing goals that will continue developing the processes and culture you created and suggest at least 2 process improvement ideas, obtain approval and implement them.
  • You will learn, adapt to, and promote ever-changing mechanisms in SaaS and DaaS based application delivery to keep us using the best technology for our platform. Demonstrate this by implementing 2 major architectural changes successfully.
  • You will be responsible for running and managing analytics on Cloud support tickets and continuously developing solutions for all high call driver issues. You will also ensure all third party API’s or data integration points are investigated and implemented into our current analytics platform.
  • You will be responsible for all architectural and infrastructure for third party application (non-HCSS Applications) hosting on our Cloud platform. Discovery, UAT, piloting, documentation to deployment.
